CHARACTER

The two most important titles I will ever hold are husband and father. Families are the most important unit to a lasting society. As a parent of two boys (soon to be three), I fight every day to give my children a better future.

I was raised to respect others, speak honestly, work hard, and do the right thing. I believe we have a responsibility to love our neighbors, even when it's hard.

EXPERIENCE

Over my career, I have worked with various groups of people from many walks of life. My career began as a teenager where I learned the importance of hard work in restaurants, shops, and roofing. After attending community college, I pursued more education an eventually earned a bachelor’s degree in business management with an emphasis in supply chain management. As I honed my skills in business, I felt myself being pulled towards situations where I could help others. Ultimately, I decided to shift my career to attend law school at the University of Wyoming because I wanted to gain the skills to help as many people as possible. I am a proud graduate of the University of Wyoming where I earned both my J.D. and M.B.A. Go Pokes!

While in law school, I worked as an intern with several prosecuting offices including the United States Attorney’s Office, Colorado’s Fourth Judicial District Attorney’s Office (Colorado Springs), and several County Attorneys’ Offices throughout Wyoming through the University of Wyoming’s Prosecution Assistance Program. I have also worked as a judicial law clerk for Wyoming’s Fifth Judicial District Court and a judicial extern for Judge Jennifer W. Elrod in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Since beginning private practice, I have continued to seek ways to serve others in the community as an attorney by protecting the rights of individuals in involuntary hospitalization proceedings, working with treatment court programs, and advocating for my individual clients. I enjoy working to help businesses as an ambassador and board member for the Cody Country Chamber of Commerce. In my free time I have volunteered as a coach on my son’s t-ball team and with a local preschool board.

My desire is to continue serving Park County and Wyoming by bringing my experience to the legislature.

WHY I'M RUNNING FOR LEGISLATURE

Tough Problems, Real Solutions

As a Republican, I embrace conservative values. To me that means working towards and supporting conservative solutions that withstand the test of time. Wyoming needs conservative solutions to the non-stop barrage of challenges it faces.

Wyoming needs policies now to protect our future freedoms and economy.

Wyoming and its citizens are currently facing an onslaught of economic and social challenges from within and without. How we respond to those challenges now will determine how prepared we are for the difficult times to come. As a state, Wyoming responds to trials by enacting policies, statutes, and budgeting for the future.

Legislators who vote in groups surrender their vote to special interests.

Most members of the Wyoming Legislature bring valuable experience with them that provides a unique perspective for the betterment of our State; however, when factions form and groups begin to vote in lockstep, the unique perspectives and values that a legislator might otherwise be able to provide become diminished, and that legislator’s votes begin to only serve the purposes of their group to the detriment of the State and its citizens.

Fighting for Wyoming, not infighting.

Over the past few years, I have been disappointed by the factions within the Wyoming Legislature; I have been frustrated by the feeling that politicians can’t set aside their differences to achieve common goals; and I have been concerned for the future of Wyoming if our leaders don’t learn to work together.

Legislators should be able to put aside differences to solve common problems.

I believe that, more often than not, the divisions that arise in the Legislature are based more on the “how” than the “what.” Issues such as protecting children, regulating property tax, and taking care of each other should not garner much opposition, but the perceived ways to accomplish those goals vary dramatically.

Wyoming needs legislators who are willing to work though issues together to come to those conservative solutions. I am running for the Wyoming Legislature because I have the skills, experience, and temperament to face the tough problems we are facing and find solutions that work for Wyoming.
